Justification
EOO 4239 km², between five and seven severely fragmented subpopulations remain. There is an ongoing decline due to Invasive alien plants, agricultural expansion and infrastructure development.

Description
Sandy soils associated with a variety of formations including Bokkeveld shale, ferricrete, silcrete and gravels.
Threats
Most of this species' habitat has been lost to crop cultivation, and only small fragments remain, which continues to be degraded due to overgrazing, a lack of fire and alien plant invasion. Subpopulations near the coast are threatened by dense, spreading alien plant invasions. Subpopulations near Riversdale are threatened by urban expansion.
