Threats
Parts of this species' habitat is infested with alien invasive plants, and if these are not cleared and allowed to spread, it could potentially outcompete native species such as A. abrupta.
Population

This species is known from a few, small, scattered clumps of plants (10-20 plants in each) scattered along a single ridge. The population has however not been thoroughly surveyed, and it is not certain whether it numbers fewer than 1000 mature individuals. The population is stable at present, but may potentially decline in future if alien invasive plants are not cleared.
