Agathosma stokoei is a rare, range-restricted and poorly known species. Its habitat is protected, and therefore it is not suspected to be in danger of extinction.

This species is endemic to a small area in the mountains of the Western Cape, where it occurs from the western Hottentots Holland Mountains to Kogelberg and the Palmietberg.

It occurs on mountain slopes in fynbos.
Threats
This species' habitat is well-protected and it has no severe threats.
Population

This is a rare and very poorly known species, last recorded in the wild in 1944. Its habitat is well-protected and in good condition, and therefore it is suspected to be overlooked, rather than threatened or declining.
