Justification | This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 2700 km². Between 10 and 15 locations continue to decline due to severe alien plant invasion, limestone mining and urban development. Some subpopulations are protected within the De Hoop Nature Reserve. It almost qualifies for listing as Vulnerable under criterion B and is assessed as Near Threatened. |

Threats |
Subpopulations in the Agulhas and Struisbaai area are being lost to urban development. Suitable habitat is also being lost to limestone mining especially in the area around Bredasdorp. Invasive alien plants are an ongoing threat throughout this species' range including within the De Hoop Nature Reserve. |
