South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape

This species is found from Blokkop above Villiersdorp.
Habitat and Ecology
Major system
Terrestrial
Major habitats
Hawequas Sandstone Fynbos
Description
It grows in sandstone slopes in fynbos.
Threats
The population is potentially threatened by too frequent fires and spreading alien invasive plants (mainly pines). This species is close to an informal settlement and has had three fires in 10 years (N.A. Helme pers. comm. 2006).
Population

It is only known from one location, where the species was last collected in 1978, and no population data recorded. An unsuccessful attempt to rediscover this species is believed to be due to searching in the wrong location, and not because the species is extinct. The habitat is still intact and not under immediate threat.

Population trend
Stable
Conservation
This species is not currently conserved in any formally protected area.
