EOO and AOO <195 km², between six and eight known locations continue to decline due to incorrect fire management, alien plant invasion, harvesting activities and habitat loss to agriculture.

Threats
Incorrect fire management, the spread of invasive alien plants (mainly hakea and pine) and habitat loss to protea and honeybush tea farming are all ongoing threats (J. Vlok pers. comm. 2006).
