A population reduction of at least 30% is estimated based on habitat loss to vineyard and deciduous fruit orchard expansion, drainage of seasonal wetlands, and alien plant invasion in the past 30 years (generation length 10 years). Habitat loss is ongoing.

Description
Breede Alluvium Fynbos, seasonally waterlogged, sandy soils.
Threats
Agriculture (vineyards, orchards), drainage of seasonal wetlands, invasive alien species, infrastructure development (dams, power substation) are threats to this species. Urban development around Brandvlei dam is a future threat.
