Description | Mainly deep sandy soils on flats, occasionally in rocky sandstone fynbos. |
Threats |
Subpopulations occurring in deep sandy soils on lowlands are declining due to recent extensive expansion in potato and rooibos tea cultivation. Two locations in rocky soils at higher altitude are unlikely to be impacted by agriculture, but is potentially threatened by alien invasive plants and too frequent fire. |
Population |
Extremely rare in some areas with subpopulations of less than 50 plants, but some larger subpopulations of more than 500 plants have also been observed.
