Scientific Name | Cliffortia multiformis Weim. |
Higher Classification | Dicotyledons |
Family | ROSACEAE |
National Status |
Status and Criteria | Near Threatened A4bc; B1ab(ii,iii,iv,v)+2ab(ii,iii,iv,v) |
Assessment Date | 2007/03/12 |
Assessor(s) | C.M. Whitehouse & D. Raimondo |
Justification | A population reduction of nearly 30% is projected to be reached within the next 50 years, as this species has already lost 25% of its habitat to crop cultivation, urban expansion and alien plant invasion in the past 100 years (generation length 50 years). EOO 1400 km², AOO <1400 km², 15 remaining locations continue to decline. |
Distribution |
Endemism | South African endemic |
Provincial distribution | Western Cape |
Range | Hermanus to Elim. |
Habitat and Ecology |
