Justification
Widespread and common around the southern Cape Peninsula and along the southern coastal regions of the Cape Flats as far as Somerset Strand. Its coastal distribution however means that many of its subpopulations are under threat of development. It still has many locations where it is not declining and is therefore not considered threatened.
