Justification
This taxon is possibly of hybrid origin between C. obovata and C. crenatata. If it were a valid taxon it would qualify for Critically Endangered as its EOO less than 10 km², and it is only known from one extant location, it appears to be restricted to lowland sands which have been mostly transformed for crop cultivation, the population is declining due to livestock overgrazing.

Description
Sandy soils.
Threats
Agriculture is a severe past threat - this species is endemic to sand soils along the Breede River and at least 30 % of the area has been ploughed up (J. Vlok pers comm.). Grazing is also a severe threat.
