A range-restricted (EOO 12 km²), high altitude resprouter that is not threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

Description
South-facing slopes and in the shelter of rocks at high altitude, in well-drained rocky soil from Table Mountain Sandstone, 1450-1800 m.
Population

This species highly localized, but locally common. As there are no severe threats, the population is not suspected to be declining.
