Justification
This species has an are of occupancy (AOO) of less than 20 km², this species has one subpopulation occurring along a narrow band on the edge of the Bokkeveld Escarpment and is potentially threatened by climate change. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion D.
Distribution

South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Northern Cape
Range
This species is found in the Bokkeveld Escarpment.

Major habitats
Bokkeveld Sandstone Fynbos
Description
Plants grow in arid fynbos on sandstone soils, growing in a narrow band on the edge of steep cliffs.
Threats
It is potentially threatened by climate change as this species only occurs in a very restricted habitat and should climate conditions change it is unlikely to be able to disperse to similar habitat. The Bokkeveld Escarpment is predicted in many climate change models to have a significant shift in climate (G.F. Midgley pers. comm.).
Population

It is likely to occur as a continuous population along the escarpment between Bloemfontein and Papkuilsfontein.
