Justification
The three populations of this species appear identical despite the contrasting soil types. Population level studies of the species would be needed to determine if they share a common ancestry or represent a case of two cryptic apomictic species derived from hybridization.

Fynbos in full sun on the acid sands from Table Mountain Series or clayish soil of Bokkeveld Series. 100-300m.
