Justification
Specimen records indicate that it was once common on seasonally inundated areas on the Cape Flats, but it now remains on four small fragments, three of which are declining due to urban expansion and alien plant invasion. A recent (2006) discovery of this species on the Agulhas plain has extended this species range considerably (EOO 3500 km²), however subpopulations on the Agulhas plain are also threatened by alien plant invasion.
