Fynbos, in rocky, shallow sandstone, 1120-1330 m.
Threats
Too frequent fire is a potential threat: this slow-growing reseeder is likely to be sensitive to too frequent fires. Water extraction is a highly probable future threat - there is currently a proposal to extract water from Kogelberg area.
Population

The population, which is confined to a very small area, was estimated to contain between 50 and 100 plants 50 - 100 plants 2005.
