Threats |
This species is endemic to a densely populated area where there is ongoing expansion of human settlements, as well as mining activities. Much of the natural vegetation is also degraded due to overgrazing. This species' specialized, inaccessible habitat however affords it protection against these threats. It is also not recorded on the mineral rich norite substrates targeted for mining, and is therefore unlikely to be impacted by habitat loss to mining. |
Population |
The species is currently known from only two locations within a small area, but further investigation may well reveal it to be more widely distributed in similar suitable habitat (Crouch et al. 2011).
