Threats |
Habitat loss to mining is threatening this species around Sendelingsdrif. At Eksteenfontein it is threatened by overgrazing. Most subpopulations are however not threatened. |
Population |
This species is a rare habitat specialist, and has been recorded only a few times. Subpopulations around Sendelingsdrif and further south at Eksteenfontein are likely to be declining, but the majority of records are from the remote, very arid, eastern parts of the Richtersveld that is unsuitable to grazing, and where it is not threatened. This species is also rare in southern Namibia, but may be under-sampled, as its habitat in Namibia remains botanically poorly explored.
