| In South Africa, this species is threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation due to mining in the area between Bloeddrif and Sendelingsdrif. Other subpopulations are however in remote, very arid parts of the Richtersveld, where it is not threatened. This species is not threatened in Namibia. |
Population |
This species has a limited range in South Africa as well as Namibia, and known from only a few records, but is likely overlooked as it occurs in a remote and botanically relatively poorly explored area. Although declining in places, the majority of the population is stable.
