EOO <5600 km², habitat at five to 10 locations continue to decline due to expanding wheat, vineyard, rooibos tea and olive cultivation.

Renosterveld-fynbos scrub, 200-400 m.
Threats
Agriculture was a severe threat in the past. It appears to be a species that occurs on lower slopes on clay soils and little of this habitat remains around Piquetberg and Tulbagh (D. Raimondo 2005).
