Justification | Although there are 30 collections of this species in South African herbaria, they were all collected prior to 1965. Many of the collection localities are from the lower slopes of the Table mountain and have been transformed for urban development, forestry plantations and vineyard cultivation. Not enough is known about the current status of this species to determine its status. |

Threats |
Many subpopulations on the lower slopes of Table Mountain are now likely to be extinct due to habitat loss to forestry plantations and urban expansion, and there have been no recent collections. Surveys are required to determine whether any subpopulations survive. |
