Justification
EOO 150 km², AOO <150 km², known to occur at three locations. Vineyard expansion and alien plant invasion are causing a continuing decline in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley and at Shaw's Pass. Plants in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve near Houwhoek are potentially threatened by too frequent fire.

Threats
Threatened by ongoing habitat loss and fragmentation due to expanding vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, as well as competition from alien invasive plants in this area and around Shaw's Pass. Subpopulations in the vicinity of Houwhoek are potentially threatened by too frequent fire as the area has burnt twice within 10 years.
