Justification
EOO 400 km², AOO < 400 km², five to 10 severely fragmented subpopulations remain. Declining due to alien plant invasions and habitat degradation as a result of thatch harvesting.

Description
Sand plain fynbos, marine sands between limestone outcrops, but not on limestone.
Threats
This species is not safe in Rhein's Nature Reserve due to altered fire regimes (J. Vlok 2006). The sandy habitats are severely threatened by Acacias. Locations around Albertinia are extinct due to aliens and thatch farming. Thatch farming is a severe, ongoing threat throughout its range.
