Threats
This species has lost at least 45% of its habitat in the Elgin Valley to crop cultivation and timber plantations (estimated using GIS), and loss is ongoing. Many remaining subpopulations occur in protected areas, safe from further habitat loss. This species is a reseeder and therefore vulnerable to too frequent fire. Increasing fire frequency is a growing concern, even within protected areas, and could negatively impact this species if it is not managed appropriately.
