Justification
EOO 5558 km², this species has declined and continue to decline due to urban expansion, agriculture and alien plant invasion on the coastal plain between Humansdorp, Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth. Isolated, somewhat aberrant subpopulations around East London are also threatened by coastal development. A number of subpopulations, however, are protected in the eastern foothills of the Van Stadens, Elands River and Groot Winterhoek Mountains and more than 10 locations are likely to remain.
