Justification
More than 10 000 plants occur in a small area of <35 km². It's mountainous habitat is not threatened and it can be dominant after fires.

Description
Southern slopes in montane fynbos.
Threats
Part of this species' habitat has been lost to forestry plantations, however, there is no current ongoing habitat loss and a large section of the population is protected within a nature reserve.
Population

This species is locally common within a very small area of the south-facing slopes of the Van Stadens Mountains where tens of thousands of plants occur (W. Berrington pers. obs.).
