Threats
Coastal development is a severe ongoing threat for populations occurring along the coast around Pringle Bay and Kleinmond. Approximately 20% of this species' range has been lost to coastal development over the past 150 years. The majority of the loss has taken place in the past 20 years. Alien species are a threat, especially for subpopulations that occur outside of the reserve areas (e.g. those east of Kleinmond) and for the sub-population on the Potberg. Pine plantations and orchards threaten the Houwhoek subpopulation.
