Synonyms
Aspalathus affinis Thunb.
National Status
Status and Criteria

Assessment Date

Justification
This reseeder (generation length 15-20 years) has lost extensive areas of its renosterveld habitat in the Overberg to crop cultivation, but over a period longer than three generations, as most of its habitat was already transformed by the 1960s (Dahlgren 1966). Although very fragmented in some areas, this widespread taxon is still common and at present does not meet any criteria for a category of threat.
