Justification
EOO and AOO <2000 km², habitat degradation due to destructive thatch harvesting and alien plant invasion is causing a continuing decline in numbers of mature individuals at fewer than 10 known locations. None of the remaining subpopulations are in protected areas.

Lowland fynbos, 300 m.
Threats
Threats to this species are: Aliens (pine, Acacia and gum), agriculture (thatching industry, where there is extensive bush-cutting of all species except thatch), and urbanisation to a lesser extent. The first two of these threats are severe and are causing an ongoing decline of fynbos habitat in the Albertinia region.
