Justification
A southern KwaZulu-Natal endemic that has a very restricted range. Both the extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 16 km², and the species is found at four locations. The population is potentially vulnerable to habitat degradation. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criterion D.

Description
This robust erect shrub grows up to 4 m tall. It occurs on stream sides, at about 180-430 m.
Threats
It is currently not threatened, but likely to be threatened if fires are too frequent and if its preferred streamside habitats are not protected.
Population

This reseeder was collected for the first time in 2005. It appears to be rare and localized, and the population is not suspected to be declining.
