Justification
EOO 10 km², AOO <10 km², one location remains. The habitat is fragmented by citrus cultivation and habitat quality in fragments continues to decline due to fire exclusion and pesticide runoff.
Distribution
Endemism
South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape
Range
Olifants River Valley north of Citrusdal.
Habitat and Ecology

Terrestrial
Major habitats
Cederberg Sandstone Fynbos
Description

Threats
There is a severe threat from citrus farming - 65% of this species' habitat has been transformed for agriculture, mostly post 1965. The only remaining fragments around the area the type collection was made are isolated between the orchards and are being degraded as result of lack of burning (Aspalathus species require burning). They are also highly likely to be impacted by fertiliser and pesticide runoff.
Population

Decreasing
