Justification
Although the habitat in the southern parts of the range is affected by alien plant invasion, this widespread and common species is not suspected to be declining or in danger of extinction.

Description
Sandstone fynbos, lower mountain slopes.
Threats
Severe infestations of alien plants threaten some subpopulations of this species e.g. at Babilonstoring, Caledon Swartberg and the Lower Slopes of the Riviersonderend. However, many subpopulations are safe and not threatened.
