Justification
Aspalathus ulicina subsp. ulicina is a rare, range-restricted taxon that occurs in montane habitat where it is not threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 401 km². It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally recognised as Rare.
