Justification
EOO 5200 km², 11 severely fragmented subpopulations remain. This species was formerly common on the Riversdale plain but most of its habitat has been transformed by agriculture and subpopulations occur on small fragments, many of which are poorly managed - burnt too frequently and overgrazed.

Description
Renosterveld, on hard clay soils.
Threats
Habitat loss to crop cultivation has already caused extensive decline and fragmentation of the population of this species. Remaining subpopulations continue to be threatened by ongoing habitat and degradation due to urban expansion, poor veld management, overgrazing and overburning and invasive alien plants.
