Description
Scarp forest, on doleritic cliffs, 900-1 100 m.
Threats
The only known locality for this species is in a densely populated area where it is potentially threatened by degradation of its forest habitat due to subsistence use.
Population

Streptocarpus floribundus appear to be extremely rare and localized (Weigend and Edwards 1994). Extensive searches in the area failed to record any other subpopulations (Weigend and Edwards 1994), and this species remains known only from Hilliard's type collection. Recent searches of the type locality also failed to record any individuals of this species (I.M. Johnson pers. comm.). Although plants could not be located, the habitat is still intact, and there is currently no reason to suspect that the species is declining, but perhaps rather difficult to find. More surveys are needed.
