Justification
Daubenya namaquensis is a range-restricted habitat specialist endemic to Namaqualand, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1955 km². It occurs in a remote area and is not suspected to be threatened. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and occurs on semi-arid flats east of O'kiep and Springbok in the Northern Cape.

Description
It is localized to deep red sands along drainage lines.
Threats
No threats to this species are known or suspected. Less than 5% of its habitat is irreversibly modified.
Population

Plants occur in small colonies (Manning and Van der Merwe 2002), however no data on the number of mature individuals is available. As there are no severe threats, the population is not suspected to be declining.
