Justification
Drimia haworthioides is a widespread but poorly known species. It is not suspected to be in danger of extinction. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 77 700 km² and is listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and occurs from Worcester to Graaff-Reinet, Humansdorp and Grahamstown.

Description
It occurs in dry karroid areas and coastal dune thickets.
Threats
Drimia haworthioides is threatened along the coast by habitat loss to urban expansion, industrial development and coastal development. Around Bonnievale, Swellendam and Ladismith its habitat has been fragmented due to loss to agriculture. Subpopulations further inland in the Karoo are not suspected to be threatened.
Population

This is a widespread but rarely recorded species, with a few recent observations. It is possibly overlooked due to taxonomic confusion in Drimia.
