Taxonomic uncertainty around the validity of this species currently prevents assessment of its risk of extinction - the type specimen for this taxon could not be located/found. It is possibly not sufficiently distinct from D. basutica or D. macrantha. It is therefore listed as Data Deficient - Taxonomically Problematic.
