Description | This species occurs in on sandy flats and dry hill slopes in fynbos and coastal grassland. |
Threats |
Some of this species' habitat has been irreversibly modified due to urban expansion and coastal development, and loss continues, particularly in the Garden Route area of the southern Cape coast. Subpopulations in the western part of the range are threatened by competition from dense infestations of alien invasive plants. |
Population |
Lachenalia algoensis is a widespread and common species. The population is suspected to be declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation.
