Justification
This taxon has a highly restricted range, with an extent of occurrence of 3 km². There are three isolated, severely fragmented subpopulations that is expected to continue to decline due to ongoing habitat degradation.

Description
It occurs on hills and lower mountain slopes, stony loam soils, or under shade of surrounding bushy cover.
Threats
This taxon has lost habitat to timber plantations and urban expansion, and now remains in three small, isolated remnants. One of these were discovered after pine trees were felled in a plantation. The second subpopulation is within an urban park where it is threatened by competition from alien invasive species and too irregular fires. The third subpopulation is within the Table Mountain National Park above Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, and has no severe threats at present.
Population

This taxon is currently known from three isolated subpopulations. The population size is not known, but is suspected to be small. It requires monitoring, as it is expected to continue to decline due to ongoing habitat degradation.
