Justification
Lachenalia leomontana is known from one area on the slopes of Leeurivier Mountain in the Langeberg. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of less than 10 km². However, it is not threatened due to the inaccessibility of its habitat. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally recognised as Critically Rare.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found on the southern base of the Leeurivierberg, north-west of Swellendam.
