Lachenalia namaquensis is a Namaqualand endemic with a restricted-range, but it is common, occurring in large colonies and not in danger of extinction.

Description
This species occurs in large colonies on granite outcrops. Mature fruits splits open and seeds are dispersed by shaking action by wind. Flowers are pollinated by honey bees.
