Justification
This species has been very rarely collected and is recorded from only four herbarium specimens. Tolken 1985, notes that this species is apparently common according to some collectors. However as there are still no recent collections and this species occurs in areas that are threatened by crop cultivation, invasive alien plants and coastal development it is listed as Data Deficient.
