Justification | According to Tolken (1985) this is a poorly known species which has been recorded from two centres in the Cape Province, near Vanrhynsdorp and between Matjiesfontein and Caledon. At present the two forms can be distinguished by the very strongly elongating pedicles and the less abruptly constricted squamae in the northern form. The species is so rarely collected however that one would not like to draw conclusions from it, especially as intermediate forms could occur on the rather poorly collected eastern slopes of the south western Cape mountains. |
