Range
This species is widespread in the mountains of the Northern and Western Cape, from the Bokkeveld Escarpment southwards through the Cederberg and Koue Bokkeveld to the Hex River Mountains. An isolated subpopulation occurs in the Kamiesberg.

Description
It occurs in pools with shallow water and flooded depressions on sandstone and granite rocks.

There are no severe threats to this species. Most of its montane habitat is protected.
