Distribution |
Endemism | South African endemic |
Provincial distribution | Northern Cape |
Range | This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found in Richtersveld, from Helskloof to Steinkopf. |

Threats |
Severe overgrazing is causing a loss of vegetation cover and erosion across this subspecies' range. It is not grazed, but is dependent on shelter provided by larger shrubs, and plants are dying in areas where shrub cover has been reduced. A historical record indicates that this subspecies occurred near Swartwater, where it is now quite possibly locally extinct due to habitat loss to mining. |
Population |
There is no information available on the population of this species.
