Population

This species was originally known from a single river valley in the southern Transkei region of the Eastern Cape. Subsequently it has been found in similar habitat in river valleys further north, suggesting that it is a widespread, but localized habitat specialist. This species' habitat remains relatively poorly explored, and it is likely to be much more common than records suggest.
