Justification
This species has a limited distribution range and has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 12 km². It is known from a single location where it is declining due to illegal collection to supply the succulent ornamental plant trade. It therefore qualifies as Critically Endangered under criterion B.

Description
Plants of this species are found in quartz-rich sandstone crevices, on upper south-facing slopes.
Threats
The main threat that this species faces is illegal collecting of mature individuals from the wild for the ornamental succulent plant trade. It may also potentially be impacted by changes in climate as the region where it grows is experiencing ongoing aridification with a severe drought experienced between 2015 and 2021. Fortunately it occurs in a specialized niche habitat which likely buffers it from severe impacts of drought.
Population

It is known from one location and the population is currently declining due to illegal harvesting.

Decreasing
Conservation
It occurs in a protected area and is in ex situ collections (BGCI 2022).
