Threats
Although this species occurs in a protected area, it is facing a number of potential threats, primarily because no conservation management is taking place. Access to the reserve is not controlled, and the area is being utilized by the local community as rangelands for cattle as a source of wood. Alien invasive plants are spreading unchecked. Degradation and erosion of natural areas due to uncontrolled recreational 4x4 driving is also a concern (Anonymous 2010).
