Justification
This widespread species has lost some habitat in the past, but is still common. It is not yet in danger of extinction and is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

This species occurs from southern Mozambique to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape coast as far south as the Wild Coast.

Description
Plants grow in forests, forest margins or valley bushveld in the coastal belt.
Threats
This species has lost habitat to urban expansion and coastal development along the KwaZulu-Natal coast in the past, but recent land cover data shows very little ongoing forest loss across most of its range. Some of its habitat is also infested with alien invasive plants.
